The Justrite Sure-Grip® EX Compac Safety Cabinet with a Manual Close Door (model 891200) is for the safe and code-compliant storage of solvents and flammable liquids, such as aerosols, cleaners, and degreasers, on countertops and workbenches. Designed to increase accessibility without compromising safety, this yellow cabinet is ideal for maintenance garages with limited floor space.
It is available in a portable size with exterior dimensions of 35 in H x 23.25 in W x 18 in D (889 mm H x 591 mm W x 457 mm D). Model 891200 can store 12 gal (45 L) of flammable liquids. It easily sits on countertops and fits under most workbenches.
This model is constructed with a sturdy 18-gauge (1-mm) thick steel double-wall, with 1.5 in (38 mm) of insulating air space for fire resistance. The fully welded, not riveted, construction holds the squareness of the unit for a longer life and offers greater protection in a fire since air gaps are reduced.
The high-performance, manual-close, self-latching door (fail safe, 3-point stainless steel) opens to a full 180 degrees and closes securely for maximum protection under fire conditions when pushed shut. Continuous piano hinges ensure the door closes smoothly every time.
For added security, each cabinet comes with an innovative U-Loc™ handle that does not require manual rotation to engage the mandatory latch. Cabinets include a cylinder lock and key set, or you can choose to use your own padlock. Haz-Alert™ reflective warning labels that read “FLAMMABLE – KEEP FIRE AWAY” are highly visible under fire conditions or during power outages when illuminated with a flashlight.
Model 891200 features one patented, galvanized steel SpillSlope® shelf designed to direct spills to the back and bottom into a 2-in (51-mm) leak-tested sump that meets EPA requirements. Adjustable on 3-in (76-mm) centers, all SpillSlope shelves meet ANSI MH28.1 standards with a 350-lb (159-kg) safe allowable load. Welded shelf hangers interlock with the shelf to offer maximum stability with no flimsy brackets to lose. For replacement shelves, use model 29936.
The cabinet also features dual vents with flame arresters, four adjustable self-leveling feet, and a built-in grounding connector. Its durable lead-free epoxy/polyester powder-coat finish provides excellent chemical resistance inside and out, as well as minimizes the effects of corrosion and humidity.
Justrite supplies more than 300 safety cabinet models ranging from 4- to 115-gal (15- to 435-L), to meet a versatile range of safety, compliance, and storage requirements.
All Justrite cabinets carry a 10-year warranty. Model 891200 is tested and approved by FM Approvals. It complies with OSHA, NFPA 30, and NFPA 1 requirements.
Safety Considerations for Countertop Cabinets
The requirements for handling and storing chemicals are complex and depend on how flammable the liquid is. There is no room for error, so it is critical to choose a safety cabinet that has been independently tested to meet the standards of your industry and local jurisdictions. Not just any safety cabinet will do. Justrite flammable cabinets are best in class and are trusted within a wide range of industrial settings across the world, including laboratories, manufacturing, oil refineries, chemical processing plants, and more.
